——Studies Based on Political Rituals in Schooling

ABSTRACT
It is the unchangeable educational policy &, aim to cultivate the munist successors since the People's Republic of China was founded. Grasping this educational theme and being aware of the research idea of seeing the sun through a drop of water, the author probes into &, out of schooling with multi-disciplinary methods and studies political rituals in schooling by means of analysis, critique &, constructions. The dissertation tries to draw an educational map of political sociology, appeal for a mission of improving Chinese mental genes and open up a new research field, i.e. political sociology of schooling.
Specifically speaking, the author finds out the unchangeable educational purport of cultivating the munist successors in the process of searching for the PRC's educational aims. Then relying on the sociological problematic sense of "how the munist successors are cultivated", the author takes on "Chinese History" as the representative analytic text. In it a ritual of the soul-pilgrimage is found, which owns a prototype of "revolutionary/reactionary" and expresses a munist faith through the stiff "5–social-form" judgment in Chinese history narrative &, teaching (it is the uterus of the munist successors). After discovering this "canopy of the heen", the author analyzes the daily process and its mechani of fing the munist successors. The analysis is performed by three kinds of rituals, i.e. the rituals of conferring political faces, designing political long-distance run and political actions. Chapter 4 titled with "rituals in schooling" is specially put opposite to Chapter 3 titled with "schooling in rituals" so that the ideological critique is changed direction to institutionalization critique and the dynamic plicated relationship between the state/society and schools &, individuals (students and teachers )can be revealed. Following the explanations &, critique above, the author puts forward constructive measures in order to oid the educational dyunctions of cultivating the munist successors, which is based on the academic foundation of the modern social view of "coexist by conflict" and guided by pursuing good social life &, the correspondent civil education. The measures include three, i.e. the ameliorative idea of social democracy through education, the harmonious development of society &, individuals by education and the classroom strategy of "coexist by conflict". Thus the author manifests his research concern: "Man is born as political animals", man lives politically since childhood and the political life of adults begins with the children's. Finally the dissertation is ended with "toward a political sociology of schooling". It is not only a promoting summary of the explanations, critique and constructions above, but also a new field waiting on further research.
